Quickbooks 10:10 error when trying to open previous reconciliation report

Hi, I’m getting a 10:10 error when trying to open a previous reconciliation report in Quickbooks. A grey box appears, and I get the full message is:  “There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If it is running please exit and try again “10:10”. The fix, according to adobe, is to disable “enhanced security”, from preferences. This didn’t work for me. The pdf software is the most recent version of acrobat dc.

I’ve also tried disabling all add ins in Internet explorer as this was another proposed solution-We’re getting the same error message. I’ve opened a case with quickbooks support and they’ve asked me to disable enhanced security.
